  • Boston in Colorado?

    Question Guys?

When the series goes to Colorado?

Obvisously Ortiz well be playing 1st base. Youkilis must stay in the lineup. Where does he play?

I think Drew will move to center and Youkilis will play right. Sitting Ellsburry or Crisp.

What do you guys think Boston does?

I will be surprised if Youkilis plays right-he hasn't played there all year.
IF Sox win first two games, then Ortiz will play one game maybe two;if they split or lose both, he will probably be forced to play all three games and take a chance with his defense or lack of it.
In short, who plays and where in Colorado will depend a great deal on who does what in games one and two in Boston.

Not necessarily.....Youkillis would sit out IMO.....agree with Savage....If Boston takes first 2, Ortiz may sit, and be ready as a PH............If not, he is the one who must stay in IMO.....

I'm not sure about the lefty/righty matchups but I think their best chance of winning in colorado is with big papi at first, drew in right and jacoby in center with coco as a defensive/pinch running replacement and youk as their number one bat off the bench. Maybe crisp hurting his ankle on the last play of the alcs was a blessing in disguise. I'm not a big red sox fan but it looks like ellsbury is the real deal and seems more composed than coco crisp at the plate.

              this just in

tim wakefield has been left off the WS roster by the red sox.

also note: Jacoby ellsburry is starting in CF in game 1. coco crisp is not starting.

Youk, Lowell and Papi will each play 2 of 3 games in Colorado.

Youk at 1st & 3rd, Papi at 1st twice and Lowell at 3rd twice ....... Kielty may get one start against Francis and Drew will be benched then. Ellsbury should be in CF for at least 2 of 3 in Colorado with Crisp possibly playing against the lefty Francis as well.

Very true guys. Youkilis would be defensive liabiliy in rightfield, but damn he just hit .500 or whatever it was in the ALCS. Wayne is probably right, they will rotate those 3. Games 1 and 2 will factor as well thats true. Thanks for the replies.

why weaken another position in the field??? I think Papi starts at 1st......tough to keep your big man out of the lineup.....and his defense is not that bad.....simply average

I think Julian is the replacement. I'm not sure if that means he or Lester will start game 4 though.
