  • USC as a dog

I think this is the first time since 2002 @ wazzou that SC has been a dog in a regular season game. Anyone have any resource to check on this? I may be wrong, just can't remember it. I know they were dogs against Michigan and OU...

The last time USC was a dog was @ Auburn at +3.5 the season opener in 2003. They beat Auburn 23-0

John David Booty (broken finger) threw passes on Monday but once again did not take snaps under center.
By all accounts Booty has been throwing well and could have played last week against Notre Dame if necessary. The key issue however is Booty has yet to take direct snaps because of the broken finger. Till he does, Mark Sanchez will take the 1st team snaps.

USC squeaked by Washington, lost to Stanford, squeaked by Arizona before crushing Notre Dame. Oregon crushed Washington, crushed Stanford, crushed Michigan, crushed a few others, and was 1 inch away from tying that game with Cal. Also, homefield will be huge!! Oh, and Southern Cal is burning, slight distraction.

I agree with everything you said once again, but will still be staying away.

While USC has squeaked by some inferior competiton, one thing I cannot get away from (although I have struggled this year) is a defense that has let up less than 17PPG, only 250 YPG at 2.2 ypr and 4.9 ypa

Against a common opponent is Washington they almost equally outgained them. Take away the Wash St and Mich games and Oregon is letting up almost 30 a game

Carroll has said before while young, this may be one of the most athletic defenses he has had, and if they play up to that comment, I don't really want to be on Oregon.

That being said, I still think Oregon can win 30 - 23, but will take my chances elsewhere

I hear what you're saying, USC still might be the better team. I haven't decided if I'll play it yet, but I think Oregon should win

Thanks Frank and I remember the game well---I had Auburn because I couldn't believe they were the fave--this year will be no different-I will have the fave--we have seen this team and they lost to Stanford at home...no guesses no suprises here--Auburn and SC played opening week--Oregon by 10--if they lose this game I will call them a fraud--I am kidding really but I don't know how USC will hang with these guys--IMO defense is their only avenue--big time game for the Quacks I hope Bellotti is saying the right things this week and working on the right things such as hold on to the FREAKING football---be disciplined--no arm tackling type of thing--USC in recent recollection has not stomped the Oregon teams--Oregon St beat them two years ago as a 10 pt dog--if memory serves me right!!

Carroll's had Oregon's number in the past....This game is real simple to bet - Booty plays, back Oregon...Sanchez plays, back SC. The offense with Sanchez can keep up, with Booty they don't have a shot. The smart play is Oregon for the BCS champ...get it before this game.

They are a dog for a reason....if they wanted Oregon $ they would have made it PK or -1....they want everyone in the world to say "oh shit, USC is a dog...pound!"

Oregon already choked their 1st big game of the year at home v Cal....they should have won that game and they wont let it happen again. Sanchez on the road, hostile place (opposed to the library Notre Dame plays at)......Ducks$
