  • Definition of a bad beat

For the two or three Americans who have never experienced the agony of defeat, in the form of a ridiculous bad beat, hear this.

I had UK +7 v Fla, which was a pipe dream at best. but still.....

Fla takes a 45-31 lead very late, and the worst they can do is a push, right? I'll cut to the chase.. UK drives, v the prevent defense, and hurriedly runs a final play, completing a pass in the back of the end zone, with no time left, 45-37 FLA.

Coaches agree that there is no point in attempting the XP, since there is not even time for onside kick. Game over, 45-37.

In the NFL, they force the team to kick the XP, or try something. Evidently the rule is different in cfb, so FLA gets the cover and SU win, and UK backers get the double whammy.
Of all the rotten luck ever, I would just as soon the guy drop the TD pass. I didn't have no freakin teaser, and why should I care?
You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.

      That is brutal, I agree.

My worst story ever was over 10 years ago when the Giants traveled to Arizona and I played the UNDER 41 for more than what I could afford at the time. Arizona is down 23-17 late 4th Q and they are driving for the go ahead TD with under a minute to play while I bite my nails. On 4th down they can not convert from inside the 5 yard line so I begin to celebrate. For some odd reason the Giants with hardly any time left on the clock decide they are better off free kicking it away rather than just run some running plays from inside their own 5 yard line and decide to purposely take a safety and I lost. I will never forget that game, my most brutal loss. Im sure you will never forget this game just like I am sure the when they had that game at Foxboro many years when a team scored a TD to go ahead by 2 and the defense protested the score so they decided to leave the field with no time left and if memory serves me correct the Pats snapped the ball and Vinatieri just walked in the 2 pt conversion to win the game by 4 while the spread was 3'.

It happens every now and then

      PEACE

I had FLA -6.5 in a 4 team tease to win 2300.00 so I hedged 900 on kentucky -7 and I was hoping to hit the middle. It cost me 990.00.

            True that is abad one

Cost me a $100.00 myself. several years ago the fat fuck from detroit wayne fonts sat on the goal line for two minutes `and killed the clock winning 28-14. They were 14 1\2 fav. and the over was 42and a half. I had Dt. for 500 the over for 500 and a 200 $ parlay working. That fuck will never be forgiven by me or the detroit fans who werethere that day. Some times it works for us other times it dont.

I one time years ago had the Minn Vikings the point spread was just over double didgets and Bill Belechik had the Browns kick a FG on the LAST play of the game. Guess what? the Browns covered that game

I'm still trying to forget U. Conn's 74 yard TD punt return, when the guy signals for a fair catch and then runs. Louisville players all freeze because of the fair catch signal and 7 points for U. Conn.

And they said the play was not reviewable. Why review anything, if this can't be reviewed. Louisville -2.5 was the last team I needed for a three team parley.

Dwayne Wade fucked me one night on a parlay and a single bet (about $1300) by running the length of the court nd doing a hot dog dunk instead of letting the remaining 7 seconds or so run out.
                  5* 0-0
                  4* 0-0
                  3* 1-0
                  2* 1-0
                  1* 0-1

                  God Bless America

I know we have all had more than our share of unreal beats. The f'ed up thing is...why aren't we ever on the right side of these ( somebody is..just not talking, acting like master cappers LOL)

This one involved a rules interpretation, and a mutual agreement to forego traditional protocol. On one hand , it makes sense, and yet, what a tough way to get beat

I had UK +7. I have never seen that beore in regulation. I guarantee you Rich Brooks will be hearing from UK boosters about not demanding they kick the PAT.

you were on the right side of some of those, it's just human nature to not remember the wineers, and bask in the losers.....

And yes, for every one that had a bad beat with UK, there's one for the upside with Fla.......they just don't appreciate the happy endings, just remember the bad ones, as you're doing now....

It has happened to all of us many times, just part of the gambling game we play.........

                        and yes, I has Fla.....kapt

it's not up the coaches. ncaa put the rule in about 3 yrs. ago. NO extra point if TD is scored on last play of game. NFL rule states the point must be tried. I thought about it also in the ND/USC game. i had under 44.5. If a td was scored on last play, i would still have won (final was 38-0)
