Bryce I think the team just needed to go on the road for a couple. They've played really tight at home. It turned everything around to get away starting at Clemson. Started playing more loose and playing their style. Scoring on D, blocking kicks, ball control. I think now coming home refocused on a Thursday night as a likely dog is bad news for BC...

      • It was a really touchy call on the pass int., but he did put his hands on the defender, but it happens almost on every play and isnt called.

Both teams coming off rest---Number two vs number 11---I still think VT is favored by one or two...just a guess!

Thats the way it goes;I would turn the argument around and ask why should very good pitchers like Beckett and Sabathia be penalized because their teams DID make the playoffs and they had an instrumental part in getting there?
No one can convince me that the playoffs are NOT part of the season, and in fact the MOST IMPORTANT PART.
Lets put it this way, if Sabathia gets the Cy Young now over Beckett based on what we saw in regular season now and not including what we have seen so far in playoffs, it would be a terrible injustice;Beckett has been better when it really counts and unless their is a miracle finish by Cleveland, he saved the Sox from elimnation in the Indians Stadium;that is HUGE!!!

How many thursday night games have they played in the past 5 years? 6? Not a stat I would hang my hat on.

I'm thinking it'll be similar to tonight. BC -2 or -3. I'd lay those points any day. I don't like to bet on Tech often but in this case I'd be all over it.

BTW, it'll be Halloween week to add to the insanity that night...

True but BC came in 2 years ago ranked and left losing by around 17. Last year Clemson came in favored over Tech, ranked #10 and left a huge loser. Anything's possible, especially this season but I just wouldn't bet against Tech in this spot...

I knew that would be your comeback, but I think that voters may put a bigger emphasis on post season and may pick a pitcher who is lights out durning the post season vs. a pitcher who did great the entire season.

Are you going to pick Francis over Webb or Peavy?

Not sure what will happen, would like to root for V-Tech, because I think they have a great chance to win.

Hard for me to root for them though. Feel that they are over rated and a team living, mostly on reputation. Just my opinion.

Ok-then they could compromise and have some kind of a point system which they would have to show in their votes-the regular system could be given a higher percentage of weight than post season to compensate for the fact that some pitchers don't make the playoffs.
If pitchers like Beckett or Sabathia did well or poorly in the post season, they could get less weighted positive or negative points which would be included in the total score.
I think totally ignoring what they do in post season in unjust(I feel the same in other sports also).
