Latendresse, Begin out, Murray gets first start as Canadiens face Panthers

MONTREAL - Wingers Steve Begin and Guillaume Latendresse will sit out as healthy scratches when the Montreal Canadiens play the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.

In their place, centre Mikhail Grabovski and winger Garth Murray will see action. "I want energy," said coach Guy Carbonneau. "We were missing that the other day against Carolina and we're trying to bring that energy back."

Grabovsky played in the Canadiens first two games of the regular season, but then sat out the next two. Murray will play for the first time this season.

Carbonneau made the moves after his team was outskated for two periods in a 3-1 loss to Carolina at home on Saturday night.

Begin has one assist in four games this season, while Latendresse is without a point and had only two shots on goal in four games.

Carbonneau said the moves were made possible by the team's depth at forward, something it has lacked in recent seasons.

"For once in a long, long time we have guys that can play and replace players and produce," he said. "I don't want to disrespect anyone, but I don't think that was the case (before).

"I don't think a lot of the guys were scared in the lineup. Now we have extra players and we're going to use them.

"If they take it as a message, that's good," he added.

Thanks...I agree with Carbonneau for sitting Latendresse as a healthy scracth and that is why I said it doesnt make much of difference becuase he hasnt been playing well anyway..

The reason why I was unaware of this is because I knew they didnt have any injuries....healthy scratches are a coaches decision and it is usually the better one IMO...

hahahaha buddy been there done that let me give u my senieroy i had over 41 1/2 in a nfl play off game

41 points were scored first half i need just 1 point second half..........................................it never came i quit gambleing the rest of football season and didnt start to play again for a yr i was so pissed ............the funny thing is it probably saved me some money back then i was terrible at gambleing
