I must be INSANE, but it appears as I am the only one on this side here, adding:

Sometimes it is painful to watch a game start, when it is obvious that you are cooked from the outset. If I am going to lose my hard-earned $$$ on any endeavor, I want to at least fantasize, dream, wish, or pretend, that I have a shot. And then there are those games that you just KNOW, right from the kickoff, that only a miraculous intervention will get you to the promised land. On games like these , where you are only laying 4-and-a-hook, it is at least doable, though you know in your heart of hearts that it is the wrong side, since your team has no clue as to how to stop the other team, and laying points further eliminates the chance of a cheap fraudulent win.

At least it only counts as one loss.
