  • Cubs/DBacks -- Something to Consider

I put this in a seperate thread because it has nothing to do with my playoff dog plays, although I played Arizona because they are the dog.

Interesting pitching stat. The Cubs are 8-7 in Lilly's road starts, but Arizona is 14-3 in Davis' home starts.

On August 25th they faced each other at Arizona and the DBacks won 3-1. Lilly gave up 2 earned runs in 6 innings while Davis gave up 1 earned run in 7 innings.

What I can't figure out is how Arizona can be 14-3 at home when Davis starts because his home ERA is a not so good 4.75.

Just something to think about. Glad I don't have to think about my plays. At first I didn't like having to play Arizona tonight but now, I like playing them.

How bout the stat of Lilly being now 13-1 after a Zambrano pitched loss?

We can throw out a ton of stats on both sides i'm sure.

Golden Greek. NO, DON'T PLAY THE OVER. I'm not sure he is getting run support because he is 8 Over and 9 Under in the 17 starts. I did see one game where Davis gave up 6 runs in just one inning before he was pulled. That can raise his ERA a half run.

Rook. You shouldn't post something that never happened. There are guys here who might take your made up stat as something that really happened.

There were only 5 times this season where Zambrano lost a game and Lilly pitched the next game. Lilly did win 4 of the 5 times. If you can show me where the other 9 times occured, I'll apologize, but if not, you should stop posting stats you made up. It can only hurt someone who thinks the stat is true. BTW, about half the time this season Rich Hill followed Zambrano.

The Cubs are 5-1 with Lilly starting after the Cubs lost with Z starting.

Sandman....the one thing if nothing else that you should know about me real quick is that I don't make up stuff.... However...I stand corrected on one thing...it's not the start after Zambrano loss...it's after a loss.

                4/4 Win 4-1
                4/9 Loss 5-3
                4/25 Win 9-3

                5/18 Win 6-3
                6/15 Win 4-1
                7/2 Win 7-2
                7/7 Win 7-1
                8/4 Win 6-2
                8/9 Win 10-2
                8/15 Win 11-9
                8/30 Win 5-4
                9/5 Win 8-2
                9/10 Win 12-3
                9/15 Win 3-2
                9/19 Win 3-2

This was off an article i read....I can double check if need be.

My bad on the specifics...but he's money after a loss.

Rook. Well, yeah, that would make a difference. However, once I saw these, I didn't really check any furthur. Actually, even if all your info was correct, it really dosen't matter after what is happening tonight. I do understand now you did not make it up. I'm happy anyway because it looks like a possible doggie sweep with all three dogs winning if the DBacks hold on.

                  08/15/07 CIN L 9-11 Phil Dumatrait (R) Ted Lilly (L) L -208 O 10 106

Your list shows him winning 11-9 on 08/15/07, but he lost. I don't know if he actually took the loss, but the Cubs did lose.

Here is one from July 7th that Lilly did win, however, Zambrano won 4 days before 3-1.
