Something I have never said here and hold this to be the truth :

The racing secretary does a fine job of putting very low class dogs in the middle of a week because of the low draw and it makes for a very tough picken-day [ also I personally never bet , madiens , J , T , E , class races no matter where they are held ! ]

A big no to that , I rank my dogs in order [1234 and the - dog ] is one that if everythings perfect could sneek in there . I watch the odds on him closely and if Joe Public is giving him no respect I try a wager that will include him [ because it as a general rule will pay very well ]

the * marks what I call a best bet meaning that I feel safe just wheeling this dog over the rest [ 1/3478/3478 ] type bet for 12.00 ]

Now the [x] you ask about is what I think are the best dogs in the race but notice where some of them are placed ? . Its because that some of them are not in a prefferable box today and couple that with being boxed next to Bruno Nagurski they should in MHO have a rough trip to the turn !

One other thing.Now the number on the far right is a play if the public is staying away..What would constitute an anti public number anything over 6-1 or if it opend at like 2-1 and went to say 4-1 or 6-1 or better?
