  • Baseball Series odds question

Some of you seasoned baseball guys might be able to explain the following odds to me: (Bookmaker odds)

Cubs +220 to win NL Pennant
Phillies +225 to win NL Pennant

Cubs +450 to win World Series
Phillies +900 to win World Series

I know I am missing something, but do the Cubs match up better agaisnt a potential AL team?

    Is public money driving this?

They are almost dead even to win the pennant, but the Cubs are +425 to win WS, Phillies are +900

Just when I thought I had baseball wagering down Sounds like I should jump on some Phillie action

Robby--please my thread from Sunday--if I knew how to copy and paste it I would. Seaofred answered it for me....I had a similar question. I believe you are right in what your thinking is...about the Cubbies matching up better...Yanks and Boston were a similar situation with SOx being favored higher for the pennant but the Yanks higher for the biggie..hope this helps.

They Know They Are Going To Get Cub And Yankee Money No Matter What So They Adjust The Lines To Their Favor. Im Not Talking About People Thinking They Are Going To Make, But Purely On Them Having Alot Of Fans And Know People Are Going To Bet Them. Everyone Wants To See The Cubs Win Their First World Series In 99 Years And Want To Be A Part Of It By Placing A Bet On Them. The Yankess...well They Are The Yankees
