  • Dogs in the NFL

If you picked solely the dogs the last 3 weeks in the NFL, you would have made a small fortune. Last year the dogs were 60+% in the NFL for the year. When will the oddsmakers adjust or when will the public is the better question???

To bet favorites now in the NFL, that are not wearing Indy or NE jerseys, will put you in the poor house!

Last season NFL dogs were 55.5%

Public won't adjust. The public loves favorites. As long as the public loves favorites the linemaker will have no need to adjust.

in 2005, the faves were around 60%, an anomaly, but it all evens out over time. Any system of blanket betting ( all dogs, all faves, all Overs, all home teams, etc) is actually capping lazily and not really a system or strategy at all.

They ain't building new casinos with sportsbooks every day because they are without a clue.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.

There's gonna be Fav winnahs, and Dog winnahs, the trick is to know when to play the right side.....GP/FB are right......Those that consistently play one or the other, at seasons end, will have "not to much" to brag about.....IMO

In the NFL I don't agree. In the NFL I bet almost all dogs. In my contest I've played 19 dogs and 1 favorite. You can win in the NFL playing all dogs or a good mix of both.

Frank is right about the NFL. It's true, you can't bet all the dogs, but if you bet the dogs that you think can win the game outright, you can make money. Yes and betting Frank's running dogs is another good method. This weekend was another example of poor NFL coaching. The TV announcers seem to know more than most of the coaches. Playing not to loose is never going to get you to the Super Bowl.

Another thing, if teams have to send plays in with signals and headsets instead of teaching the players how to play during practice, then I see nothing wrong with the other team "stealing" or "Taping" them and reacting accordingly. Am I alone in thinking this way??

selective dogs yes.....my statement was those that consistently paly all favs, or all dogs, at seasons end will not......etc.....

Meaning those that just jump out there and play "ALL" dogs, or "ALL" favorites.......

I'm inclined tobelieve that if someone played all dogs in the NFL for a full season, he may be up, but not enough to warrant picking favs and dogs on a balanced basis.....IMO

I was referring to betting just all dogs, all the time, all the plays.....Being selective playing dogs is smart in the NFL....but I repeat, you still have to know which ones.....I believe a balanced portion of both is preferable....

Never bet a dog just cause he gets a lots of points, only bet the dogs you think has a chance to win outright.....IMO
