Did any body by chance take note of the Players that were on the field for LSU this past weekend....It's not uncommon for a hi powered team, that's a 40 pt favorite, to go into a game lackadasicly.....The second string played the game.......LSU got behind, then turned it on, and the rest is history.....
To say, they didn't cover, and still moved up, is far fetching....
One can say, that all the top ranked teams that lost, took their opponents for granted, or underestimated em......
USC was lucky to win.....27-24......Wash is better than most thought, or was this USC's bad game for the year....all teams have one.....Maybe it was LSU's also......
This weekend will tell a lot....Those that lost, will be looking to regain recognition........
LSU, will not run up a score, as some will, Like Texas, Hawaii, etc......It's called respect for your fellow state (Louisiana) team, that has been struggling, and rebuilt from Katrina.....
When the Tigers need to turn it on, they will....This weekend should tell a lot about em...I could be very wrong here, it won't be the first time.........

For what it's worth, USC was not lucky to win that game. They dominated Washington. I think the final penalty yards for SC came close to Wash's total yards (165 to 181 or something like that)...
The injuries on the o-line with Rachal and O'Dowd are scary. Apparently only O'Dowd will miss extended time...
If sloppy play with turnovers and penalties was the norm under Carroll, there would be cause for concern...but that's not the case. Typically SC is in the middle of the pack with penalties, and at the top in turnover margin.
As an SC fan for a while, I can tell you that I wasn't worried once for that game. The refs were really whistle happy...and it still wasn't very close. SC's defense is very strong...those games at Oregon and Cal will be very interesting. Not sure if this team will go unbeaten...but if they do, it might be the most impressive run for them yet, because the conference has never been better.
