4-1 going into bottom 8th and I push on the under! Then 7-1 into top 9th and still get the push! WTF happened?????

Papelbon didn't return for the 9th inning with a 6-run lead. He threw only one pitch in the 8th to get Gagne out of a brewing mess. Then the Sox scored 3 in the bottom of the 8th. A's scored 2 in the top of the 9th.
