I used to think this guy knew his shit, but now i think he doesnt know his ass from a hole in the ground. The guy puts out a great magazine and knows all the teams, but he cant put anything together. This year my video game simulations are blowing him out of the water. This guy i think is really losing it. HE cant even get his top weekly play right anymore. I certainly dont pay for his service but i have been tracking him for a while and all i seem to find out is the fact that his picks are garbage.

I'm like you Nicky, I get his newsletter and it looks great, but he never wins. The only games he wins is his College 5* and his pro 4* which is this coming Sunday. I will put alot of money on these picks. Other than that I am with you about him.

I have been following NC for the past 10 years and let me tell you that on his daily plays of the day(Sat, Sun, Mon) he has been a winner. Especially his Monday night play has been a consistent winner. I do not play all his star rated plays anymore because you are right he can get cold. So what I do is play just the daily top plays on Thurs, Sat, Sun and Mon. If you played his preseason plays this year you would have had a big head start since he hit over 70%. They key is to consistently play percentage of your bankroll.

I have followed Northcoast and Phil Steele a long time, and I agree.
His big plays are good and his Monday night plays are also.
Keep in mind though that although he is very honest, he is also a vey slick marketer giving you impression that when all his plays are taken into account, he is better than he really is.

I have read his newsletter for close to 20 years. He does run an honest service but expensive. More than anything he is a salesman. I have seen him have good years and very bad. He has been medicore the last few years. He use to do very well in college, but has been better inpros the past few years. His top plays in college and pro normally hit in the 60's% percent range.Powersweep is a worthwhile publication in my opinion if your planning on capping your own games. I have proven to myself many times that I do not have the time or energy to beat vegas by myself or anyone else. I rely on support from people @ this site. *** knock, wayne,ezwinners,mm and few others seem to have a handle on this site. I am on vacation this week waiting for a visit from my brother or you normally wouldn't here from myself. This is a great site that is well maintained with most ethical and helpful people sharing info to help others. I'm sure Phil Steele would hate what goes on here. hc

They werent even on his radar screen except FSu which he had in Power Sweep

If those were the easiest plays of the week, why didn't you post and help out everyone? I for one like Northcoast, but I don't play all of his plays. I like PhilSr for his honesty and to know he is not one of the many scammers in the industry. You say he can't even get his top weekly play right anymore, yes he was 0-2 this weekend, but did hit his top college last week. In Pro's his 3* have done better than his 3.5*'s so I have learned to play more on the 3*'s. In college, his top plays were 9-6 last year and 12-3 the year before. That adds up to plus money.
Aren't all the service people salesmen? They need to sell their picks to make money. I think you have to agree that the Powersweep provides a lot of information for people to use any way they want. He does write up the Powersweep on Sundays so there may be information on games he doesn't have at the time.
The Powersweep and picks have been provided free of charge this year. Play em if you want, fade em if you want, but let's make money!!

I'm with the last poster. I have been getting his newsletter for the last 4-5 years and found it to be very useful especially the weekly top dog pick. His preseason publication is the best out there bar none. Last year was not very good for him , but most handicappers had an off year. I bet his top college pick every week religiously ,look at the college totals and check out the pro picks although I think there are better pro services out there.

Someone must respect him because within an hour of his college top pick coming out the line always moves against it. Get it early or forget about it.........................my two cents.

phil steal is an honest bum. for a guy who specializes in football only he is terrible. ok his 5* plays do very well but overall( and i have been following him for about 10 yrs) his act is getting real old. i have paid for his services in the past and to hear him on the line the next day being honest and telling you all but one of his plays won is a joke. i hope for his sake he can turn it around this year. last year i lost a ton of money because i kept thinking this guy is due. it never happened. this past weekend i actually made money on his plays even though he was a pathetic 2-4. he lost everygame in the afternoon which i didn't play any of them. he was 1-4 going into the lsu game so i bet the house on lsu. i guess thats the best way to use his service. just my 2c's.

Phil Steele's top plays (4.5 and 5 stars) are usually winners but the lines do move 1-3 points after he announces them. Look at how FSU -15 over Md (last year's Sept. 5 *) went to -18 or higher. And his college GOY on Wash. moved 2-3 points too.

Overall, his college plays in Power Sweep had a losing year last season. He can get hot with one team and play them week after week such as with Carolina last year in the NFL and with Oklahoma and WSU in college.

His NFL stat play went 8-3 last year.

NC 4 and 5 star in NFL, and 5 star in college FB, were both better than 67% last year.

The 4 star in college FB were not as good as 67% LY.

Steele is biased - usually losses when he picks Miss. St., like recently, but keeps coming back to them.

i didnt post the plays because i joined the forum on sunday so quit getting on my case. I just wanted to know what others thought of PHil Steele. And Phil Jr i appreciate the fact that u post his play because i have been charting him the past 4 years. Guys im not here for trouble im here to make money
