  • CFB Saturday

    CFB YTD 5-8 -2.8 units
    2* 1-0 +2.0 units
    1* 4-8 -4.8 units

    CFB/NFL Combined 9-8 +2.2 units
    2* 2-0 +4.0 units
    1* 7-8 -1.8 units

I've been as bad in college as I've been good in the NFL this year and am coming off a 1-5 week in CFB but am now 4-0 on the year in the NFL. I love this week's CFB card and have a lot of plays.

    2* Kansas -30
I posted this play Monday at the above line (it has since moved up as I expected) but it isn't an issue because Kansas will win by 50. Kansas has no game next week and won't look ahead. They have been unstoppable on offense playing patsies this year. Flordia Intl is primed to be killed as they come off a tough game in which they played hard against crosstown rival Miami.

    2* Toledo +4
Toledo is 30-5 SU at home since Anstutz took over. They aren't a very good team but Iowa State is a lousy team coming off an emotional upset win at home. Iowa State has already lost to Kent State and 1-AA Northern Iowa, neither of which is as good as Toledo.

    2* Florida Atlantic +6 1/2
North Texas has a high school coach (I'm not making that up) and Flor Atl has a former national championship coach. Fl Atl whipped Minnesota last week but won't let down as this is a conference game. There 's a huge talent and coaching edge for Fl Atl, even though they are on the road.

    1* Notre Dame +12 1/2
I'm not passing up nearly two touchdowns on Notre Dame at home. Touchdown Jesus and all that stuff. I don't think they're as bad as they've looked and will improve as the season goes along. Mich State wasn't convincing in last week's win at home over Pitt. ND has practiced in pads all week with tackling on every play. Weis is obsessed with getting a win.

    1* Texas -38 1/2
Rice has been slaughtered two weeks in a row by teams that aren't as good as Texas. I look for Mack Brown to run up the score as Texas hasn't been convincing in any of its wins but all were against deceptively tough competition. Rout.

    1* South Carolina +16 1/2
LSU has more talent but Steve Spurrier is a lot better coach than Les Miles. Spurrier has a great ATS record as a road dog and SC's defense is very good. LSU probably wins as they have sensational talent but SC keeps it close.

    Opinions only:
    TCU
    UNLV
    Tennessee
Michigan (I really wanted to make this one a play, but...)

        gris, great write up!
like the calls, esp. S.C. and the Dame, as hard as it is to bet on them, I think they cover this week.
check your line for Fla. Atlantic, I got -6.5

I need to correct the line on one of my plays. Florida Atlantic is -6 1/2, not +6 1/2. The play still stands. It was just a typing mistake. I expect Fl Atl to win by double digits.

FYI, N Texas coach came in with a 48-game win streak and the last three state championships. Yes, he was a HS coach, but a pretty damned good one.

                        Good Info and great writeup.
I don't see Spurrier letting his team down now that they are legitimate contenders. Close game. I love the reasoning on your plays. Best of Luck ---Griz

                            Good point.

Somehow I think Dodge will get this program turned in the right direction. Which shouldn't be difficult, as there is only way to go.................UP! LOL

Won't be easy to get the blue chips, but Dodge should recruit well in the vast pond which is Texas HS football.
