Only a true fucking moron would have brought in Gagne in the eighth with so much on the line, and even a bigger moron would have left him as long as he did.

I felt my chest tighten with each pitch Savage......If i was not a sox fan it would be comical because i saw it unravel and everyone else besides francona saw it too

Thats a awful harsh thing to say about your manager!

Savage...i really can't believe my eyes... I mean, granted it looks like both the sox and yankees are going to make the playoffs, but i really thought the yankees could not 100% win the division... Now they are only 2 games out and boston has minny and the a's still to play... Yankees have tampa, baltimore and toronto still to go... Very very interesting
Maybe the Mets and Red sox can play a consolation World Series to see who can LOSE.
ps I am exaggerating somewhat as Met's collapse has been monumental;a team which loses(what is it 8 straight?) to their divisional rival doesn't really deserve to be in playoffs.

Both Sox and especially the Mets reminf me of a boxer(Two Ton Tony? lol) who is being battered in the last round, is up against the ropes and just waiting/hoping for the bell to see if he can win the decision.
Only IF they lose the division...last time I checked they are still in first and when they win the division, no one willremember that they limped to the finish line. Same with the Sox. Long way to go for it to be 'monumental'.

hopefully we get saved by the bell......again.....
