Monday's NFL.....

The 13 game winning streak (Going back to last season) in the NFL came to a crashing end yesterday, going 0-5 and digging myself a nice hole to dig out of to start the new NFL season. This is my play for tonight, and I will post a reply to this thread after the game like I always do, win or lose.


5 STAR: Tampa Bay (+3) OVER PHILADELPHIA

I'll try to dig out of the 0-5 hole I dug yesterday. Philly has lost a lot of players to injury and free agency. I don't see them being as good as last year, but I can actually see Tampa improving, on the offensive side of the ball at least. Gruden will have this team fired up, and they are pissed off about having to open on the road. Here is the clincher, when the defending Super Bowl champ is not favored in a game the next season, they are 33-22-3 against the spread. Take the Bucs here!

I am hitting at about a 10% clip this weekend; but I am half tempted to chase back my entire total on Tampa on the money line. I see them blowing Philly out by 9-17 points. Tampa has a potent offense now under Gruden; and Sapp in a contract year; champs pissed they have to open on the road; Hugh Douglass elsewhere; blah blah blah....TBay crushes tonight.

philly pissed about losing last year in nfc championship and get quick revenge. lots of emotion tonight. say what you may, tampa has a tough time winning in philly, i say the nfc championship was a fluke and philly gets revenge tonight. take philly minus the points. i say the win by 7 or more.

You are a great capper; BUT.....if you are basing this play on emotion I must disagree. Could Philly have not been excited last year in the NFC Championship....at home???? That would certainly have been more of an emotional high than opening week????!!!! Tampa Bay is underrated. They dismantled Philly in Philly and did the same to Oakland. The only team Tampa really struggles with is Pittsburgh and for some reason, the Saints. Don't get caught up in the pregame revenge hype and Hank Williams singing his song, etc.....Tampa is better. Gruden is a mother fucker.....Tampa Bay is the play (I rhyme like BB Nut) Good Luck nonetheless. I hope you win every bet (except tonight)

First thought is philly for revenge but I think tb wants to prove last year was no fluke....they went on to upset oakland,I was on oakland,...tb is tough and I like the points in what I think will be a
close game.

This is going to be a great game. However, emotions, new stadiums and revenge will have little to do with the outcome. It's a game that the winner will be obvious after it's over. Winners will say I knew it and losers will wonder how they missed this one. The 3 point line will not factor in in my opinion. It's just picking the right side that's the problem. I'm working on it as I'm sure all of you are.

Remember one thing though. It's not a good idea to bet a game because it's the only game on and sometimes just better to sit back and enjoy it!

Leaning toward Tampa Bay right now though.

Why hasnt the line gone down?

This game feels like a trap. I have seen like 90% of the comments on various threads/sites and everyone likes TB and TB on the ML. Also notice that the ML is only +125, what the hell is that?

I am not sold on this game yet, this might be Vegas telling us somthing.

One other comment, the Beagles gave NO indication of what they are going to do in pre-season games, so they might really come out and surprise a few tonite.

Until this line budges off 3, I am not biting. Maybe the wrong approach, but somthing smells strange on this game...

correct me if i am wrong, but tampa beat philly when mcnabb wasn't totally healthy...and prior to that philly is 4-0 against them....Does tampa have the running game to exploit philly's only weakness????? They definitely don't have the passing game.
