however ......arm and hitting there is no comparison....i would take posada everyday of the week....many times calls come from the dugout if the catcher is deficient....

Agreed! However, just remember what happened last year when Tek went down in August;the season was essentially over because they had no one with the same smarts and ability to call the game; it showed as the era's went up by an average of 1 during his absence-I don't think it was a coincidence.

you are correct...but after he went down everybody and their brother did too....

I am not minimizing teks prescence just move his ass to the number 9 slot.....he is like .135 in the month of september and 8 men LOB today alone.....If he was moved down the hinske double would have blown the game open.....

Best catcher in the game today!

Posada has had a great year...but he and V. Martinez are equals offensively and Martines is a better defensive catcher. Much better at throwing runners out. It's close, but I would take Martinez.

No one tougher than Posada...in the Boston papers today that he went to the hospital after yesterdays game. For a homo, he is tough as nails!
