I had an excellent NFL day yesterday, going 2-0 and hitting my only opinion play. My last baseball post was last Tuesday, when I ground out a small profit going 1-1 on dogs.
1* Mets -110
The Mets are running away with the NL East and have won three in a row and eight of their last nine. Perez has been pitching well enough. Atlanta's Hudson has been only so-so his last few starts and the Braves' wildcard hopes were badly damaged by a bullpen collapse at home yesterday. All things considered, the price seems very low.
1* Diamondbacks +144
Arizona is putting the hammer down in the NL West, winning five in a row and fighting to catch the Mets for the best record in the league and homefield advantage. Hernandez was lousy his last start, but his prior two were very good. Lincecum occasionally flashes the brilliant game but has been mediocre his last several. More importantly, the Giants are playing out the string while the D-Backs are on a mission. They shouldn't be a dog and certainly not a +144 dog.
