Ok guys, I'm gonna do what I did with the basketball team this past season, and try to give out a pick for each AF FB game this year. In general, my handicapping sucks, but I think I'm decent when it comes to AF games (at least I hope so for FB this season 
) Onto tomorrow's game @ Utah...
Too bad this is the 1st real game of the season for AF cuz if this game was later in the year, I WOULD UNLOAD ON AF! Where to begin...
1) Utah lost their starting QB and best player last week,
2) The back-up, Tommy Grady, went 9-24 for 59 yards against Ore St...granted Ore St's D is better than AF's D, I watched the Ore St/Utah game last week, and I'm just not feeling Grady here,
3) Although AF is 1-4 L5 yrs SU against Utah, they lost by 3 in '06, 3 in '05 (@Utah), 14 in '04 (@Utah with the BCS team), 2 in '03, and 4 in '02 so as you can see, these 2 teams have a history of playing close games,
4) AF is running a new offense this season, and although there are still staples of the option, this offense is more spread out which I think will cause problems for Utah and the other teams in the Mtn West...also, considering Utah gave up 244 yards on 44 carries last week against a team that can't run the ball as well as AF, they should be able to pick their spots nicely for big gains on the ground,
5) AF's QB is a 4-yr starter, and I really think he's due for a break-out season giving AF a big edge at the QB position in this game (at least IMO),
6) The importance of this game is huge for AF's season as the next 2 games are vs. TCU and @ BYU,
I could go on, but I'll stop there.
The only real negative I see coming into this game is AF is only returning 10 starters from last year's team while Utah is returning 15, but considering how bad AF was last year, I guess you can say this isn't exactly a bad thing.
When it comes down to it, I LOVE AF +7 1/2! I may even throw a small chunk on AF +270 to win SU!
