  • Which College Football team is worse?

    Michigan or Notre Dame?

Am I the only guy who feels Notre Dame loss was worse than Michigan. Obviously, Appalachian is a division AA team but they are the two time defending champs and a pretty damn good football team. They'd give many of the top-25 teams a good game.

Notre Dame's loss at home was an old fashion beating. Ga Tech came into South Bend and gave the Irish a beating. Notre Dame has 122 total yard. 33-3 could have easily been 63-3.

To date, Charlie Weis is proving he's a very over-rated coach. His game playing with naming his starting QB for the season opened back-fired miserably.

We'll find out on September 15

The ND loss showed that they are deficient in just about every facet of the game. They are very young and inexperienced - a deadly combo. They will be better at the end of the year then they are now, but it will be a rough road ahead. Did Weis know this or was he oblivious to his team's inadequacies? The Michigan loss was embarassing, but they certainly are superior to ND. They should blow ND out as Penn St will on Saturday.
Circumstances do not make the man; they reveal him.

i think Notre Dame is worse....

However i disagree that Charlie Weiss is overrated

I mean he took a team with no players (ty could not recruit)...outside brady and samarja and took a 5 and 6 win team to a BCS Bowl 2 yrs in a row.....I do not think that is overrated....I know they got blown out, but they were not an A type team like the LSU's, Ohio States, USC's etc....

They played everyone tough last year except LSU....they played USC tough 2 years in a row....but talent won out....

That is the reason i do not think Weiss is overrated......

I mean the NFL validated their lack of offensive players by not drafting them.....

          I agree 100%

Tyrone got fired after a subpar 3rd season. This is Charlie's 3rd year and i bet he could get 2-3 wins and still keep his job ......

the thing that sunk ty willingham is that he was not a good recruiter.....

still think he overacheived his first 2 years....

            Ty overachieved his 1st year

i'm gonna go on the other side of this and say that Michigan's was worse for this simple reason:

Michigan's season is essentially over. They were a legit BCS title contender if they could run the table. You are really gonna find out what kind of coach or lack there of Lloyd Carr is.

Notre Dame fans.....and those that say they didn't think this was a rebuilding year are as naive as anyone. This is NOT going to be a good year for the Irish, and that being said, they could still win 6 games and go to a lower tier bowl game.

Now with Weis naming Claussen the starter for penn state which I disagree with...but nevertheless....it's time to start the maturity process and the future of the Irish for the next 4 years.

This isn't a homerish post on my part...believe me. I was not shocked in the least to get killed by Georgia Tech, and it's not going to get any better the next 4-5 games. But as far as expectations go....Michigan is dead in the water....Notre Dame there is nothing but upside at this point.

Which Team is worse is hard to answer after those games. I will say this, put ND offense with Michigan's defense and you could be beat by most teams in any division.

One thing is sure, Michigan fall out of the top 25 is warranted and ND never belonged in the top 40.

Michigan had 479 offensive yards, and still could't win. They out rushed and out passed their opponent and lost at HOME.

ND was out rushed by 269 YARDS!!!! They Netted 122 yards on 63 plays (their worst output in 5 years). That is only a little over 2 YARDS A PLAY. THEY HAD NEGATIVE 8 RUSHING YARDS on 41 rushes (They did not stop trying to run). 15 passes for 130 yards, less then 10 yards a pass. This from an offensive genius with supposedly the SMARTEST players in all the land.

                    ND was easily worse

I am a ND fan and i knew it was over after last weekend!!!

But wayne if i were a Michigan fan i would feel real bad due to the high expectations.....That has to suck.....Not being a dick, but i remember when the Giants won the division the 1st year with Dan Reeves and we opened with the Cowboys and we were picked by everyone and we got slapped like 41-0 to start the season...felt terrible

I agree again. I think App St would go in to N.D. and beat them by about 40 with that attack!

I agree, Michigans season as far as BCS is over after this weekend. ND was over before the season started.

                          You are right Rook.
