      Wayne & Others...so I think I draft #5 in a 14 team league. Should I go Addai/Gore and hope/pray I can get Brady/Brees/Bulger/McNabb with my 2nd pick (#24) or should I go Manning with #5 and pick two RB's with my next 2 picks?

I would think I could get an Edge James, Deuce, Ronnie Brown, Thomas Jones combo with picks 2 & 3.

I wouldn't take Manning at 5. Go with Addai and take Carson Palmer 2nd round.

I hate taking Manning that high but I seriously doubt Palmer will be around at #24...I would hope Brady, Bulger, McNabb, Brees are around but they could be gone by then too. And I really don't want to rely on Kitna as my starter.

Don't. Take Losman and thank me later

I dunno, I've done 6 drafts and in 3 of them Palmer was available at 24 and in the other 3 he wasn't. Bulger and McNabb were both available in all 6 drafts at 24 and should be available at your 3rd or even 4th round pick. Don't force a QB pick though if a guy like Jones-Drew, Chad Johnson, or Marvin Harrison falls to you at 24.

                        Three Jack,
I've been a quite a few fantasy leagues and done well some years and shitty other years.
Maybe I didn't see it in these threads but when deciding a qb, or rb or wr, its important to know how the scoring goes.
Is this league a yardage and scoring league or just scoring ?
If yardage counts, then you definitely need a good QB early. If its just scoring, a QB can wait until later. Same with RB's.
How the scoring goes is very important. If yardage counts, then a Manning, Brees, Brady, etc are important early.
                        Just my opinion.

Thanks Dave...here are the pts for passing:
                          Pa2P - Passing Two-point Conversion 2 points
PaInt - Passing Interception -2 points
PaIntTD - Passing Interception for TD -3 points
PaTD - Passing TD 5 points
Plus 2 points for a PaTD of 40 to 59 Yds
Plus 4 points for a PaTD of 60 to 79 Yds
Plus 6 points for a PaTD of 80+ Yds

PaYd - Passing Yards 0+ PaYds = 1 point for every 25 PaYds
                          Plus a 5 point bonus @ 300+ PaYd

Thanks fellas...it seems as though most of you say go RB...I will most likely go Addai with #5 and hope Brady falls to me at #2 (as much as I do not like Brady and I am assuming Palmer goes). After my second pick (#24), my next pick is #33 and I can go RB there.

Again, just my opinion but I've been in leagues like this.
You need a QB in a passing offense and RB's in a running offense. With these rules, a Manning, Brees, etc. are important because you will get points because they will get plenty yardage. A Bulger or Grossman might have td's but they won't have the yardage because they lack the weapons that others have at WR's. What makes Brees so good is that he has many weapons at WR AND RB because Bush and Deuce catch a lot of passes.
Also look for sleeper rb's and wr's who also play special teams if points count for special teams.
Kickers are pretty much even. Look at the points for kickers last year and you will see they are even BUT look for a kicker who had points but plays on a team that runs alot. These kickers tend to kick field goals more than teams that have a wide open offense. That's important if your league gives you extra points based on length of the field goal.
                              Again, just my opinion.
