  • Why Syracuse?

I have looked at this game all afternoon, and I hope some good cappers on this site lean towards the Huskies like I strongly do. The Orange, returning 11 starters, ranked 110th in the nation in total offense and 107th in total defense. Washington went 2-3 final five road games last season including hard fought losses at nationally ranked USC 26-20, and at Cal 31-24. Tyrone Willingham better coach.

Am I missing something big? Help. Thanks.

    This might help.. *CnP*

Syracuse is facing a rebuilding year, only returning ten starters. Washington is in a similar situation, with only 12 returning first team players. Both teams are relying on young and unproven QBs. One big offensive advantage for the Orangemen is their very dependable kicker Patrick Shadle, who made 16 of 18 attempted field goals last year. With both of these teams facing similar offensive hardships, it is possible for special teams to play a big role in this game, in which case the Orangemen are in luck.

Syracuse has another major edge in this match-up and that is home field advantage. The Orangemen have an 18-2 ATS home record vs. out of conference opponents. This is exactly the situation in tonight’s game, with the Washington Huskies making the long cross-country trip for this one. Looks like an ideal time to side with the Orange. One final consideration: the Huskies are on a losing 4-22 ATS run as favorites. Go with Syracuse to get the cover and quite possibly the upset win in this one. I will take the points

I beg to differ just a bit unchill. Syracuse, though they lost at the end of the year, played very well against Louisville, Cinncinatti, and a couple other bowl teams. Washington has a long trip, starting a freshman quarterback and had a tendency to turn the ball over last year, totaling -8 turnover margin while Syracuse was a +11. Robinson is a good defensive coach and I see Washington's freshman QB turning it over early. Also, Willingham is vastly overrated as a coach. If he was worth his salt, he would still be at Notre Dame, but got ran out of there. Not to say Syracuse is a lock, but I like them in this spot. Good luck this year.

Thanks for the info. I think I am laying off this game. Many easier games this weekend.

I do like Navy unless I am talked out of it.

Make it simple, and take the OVER.....Both teams will make mistakes that result in points, and both will score.....IMO....kapt

a like the under in the wash/cuse game. Ty W. starting a freshman qb i see conservative play calling(running) long drives eat clock.
