How the hell do you become a Sox fan but yet a Muts fan?

When I moved to Boston in Jan of 2004, it became very apparent early on that you cannot livein this city and be 'neutral' when it comes to this rivalry. You need to be on one bus. And I was completely taken aback by the passion that this city (really the region) has for this team. I thought NY'ers were pasionate. It pails in comparison to this city.

• Chicks LOVE the Sox. When I first started here, there would be 3 or 4 girls sitting at a lunch table talking Sox...in February! In fact, where I used to work, there were 8 women in a female only fantasy baseball league.

• Routinely, Sox exhibition games are the highest rated sports programming, in some cases, beating NCAA tourney games

• I go to the gym every night after work, or run along the river...the last two nights you can tell that most people were staying in to watch the two games...noticeably less peopel out, unless you were in a bar where they were packed.

In short, it is very easy to get caught up in it. But they will never replace the Mets in my heart...who, by the way, are showing a lot of f-ing heart today!

They were tied with seattle with last nights win.. Now they are currently .5 games ahead of seattle pending their game.. I want us to win the division dont get me wrong but right now im just living it up because we straight bitch slapped the Kool Aid Nation and their leader is no where to be found

get a grip.....this is nothing compared to what us sox fans have gone through......We still fill the stadium....but the yankees in 1996 could not even draw 25K per game and were talking about they need a new stadium and the bronx was not safe.......they hated the torre hire....I even bought a 20 game ticket pacakge because i lived 55 minuted away.......

bottom line....the yankee fans are fickle.....the red sox fans are like prisoners of war......we get tortured year after year....and we are still loyal....

thats why the red sox fan is more loyal....

this is concerning....but we have alot of tampa bay coming up

howver, that being said if i were a yanks fan i would be excited...enjoy fellas.....
