  • UEFA Champions Qualifiers

    Soccer to date -1 units

There are 4 games today to qualify for the Champions league group play. Losers are relegated to the UEFA Cup which is still a big tournament, but peanuts to the Champions League. Champions League brings in 60-100 million if you make it to the finals in revenue, and the Cup brings in 6-10 million if you make it to the finals. so on with the picks

    Rangers FC +200
    Draw +220

Playing both of these because a draw gives Rangers the advance. Red Star is playing tough, but so are Rangers, winning their league game on Sunday. Rangers need this win otherwise the coach is going to start dumping players. If they win they start spending money wildly on transfers. I think that Rangers tie (which they advance on aggregate) or win here.

I am going to play my favorite team Liverpool because I play them every game. They are -335, so I am not posting them as a [I]play[I], but they are at Anfield and have control of this series by leading in aggregate on away goals. Even though the captain and Carragher are out, they should prevail. Rafa Benitez is playing this to win. Liverrpool is going to be a very high number on Saturday against Derby so I am glad that Wayne's GOY came in!

    Sevilla +130
They are playing in Greece and should win here. They are a strong team and play well in Champions due to the fact that their league play is dominated by 2-3 teams every year. This is there season.

    Good luck

Well Athens is not exactly up to fit either, they have not played in over a week and with the fires and looming National crisis in Greece I see Sevilla getting a victory and dedicating it to Puerta and his recovery. It could go either way as emotion plays very highly into soccer.

      GL with your play

        good luck buddy,

yeah i'm on the other side of the Sevilla game...but i'm with you on liverpool.

Even if Sevilla loses 1-0, they still advance, and something tells me that they won't be pressing too much considering they have two more games this week on Friday and Sunday.

Looking forward to comparing notes on soccer the rest of the season! Continued success.

Sevilla can lose this game and still advance?

Wow...with that being said if they lose or tie they still advance so they would have no need to try and win outright?

I dont get this....why would you bet a team to win outright when they only need to lose by 1 goal or less?

Chado, the risk with taking AEK Athens is that if Sevilla scores one goal it's pretty much over for AEK...all the air will be taken out of the crowd and for sure the team.

i'm banking on AEK scoring first and then trying to get that all important 2nd goal and clean sheet...but it is a risk.

The books listed Sevilla a favorite on the road for a reason.....but i'm still willing to take the chance on the home team. I know where Urban is coming from as well....

Gonna be an interesting first 45 minutes that's for sure.

UEFA.com has not said that the game is postponed, is it for sure?

I called my online book to make the bet and the girl said she couldnt find the game....she sd she would need to speak with a superviser and put me on hold....when she came back she sais the game has been postponed as a Sevillan player has passed away....right away i figured it was the one who had the heart attack...

yeah, all the news outlets are saying postponed.

                            Very sad news.

I played the over 2.5 in the Liverpool game based on what I think is going to happen. Peter Crouch is going to light up the boards and so is John Kuyt, I am thinking a goal each, and not sure where the third is going to come from, probably Jermaine Pennant
