The Kansas City Star reported that Johnson agreed to a five-year contract extension that will pay him $45 million over the next six years. The deal includes $19 million guaranteed, the Star reported.
"It was a long, hard negotiation," Chiefs general manager Carl Peterson said. "We are very happy to have all our children in camp now."
Chiefs spokesman Bob Moore said Johnson will speak to the media Wednesday.
Johnson has broken the Chiefs' single-season rushing record in each of the past two seasons. He ran for 1,789 yards last year and set an NFL record with 416 carries.
During his holdout, the team fined him more than $19,000 per day.
