  • Who is the better pitcher?

    Matt Cain or Carlos Zambrano?

I love Zambrano but I do not think he is much better than Cain.....if I was actually a GM of a team I would pick Cain.

    What do you think?

    PEACE

Do not let the win loss record deceive you.....they have similar stats but Zambrano gets runs and Cain gets none.

I like 'em both and wouldn't have a problem with either but i would probably go with Zambrano.

I would take Hamels over anyone in this thread..........Hamels hasnt even scratched the surface yet and he is leaps and bounds better than all 3 of them ever were this early in their careers

            PEACE

have to take Big Z here Ronnie ...

Zambrano is such a work horse ... type of guy who could throw 120 pitches and come back in 3 days if needed ... Strong .. Not injury prone .... good live arm ...

If i had my choice of any pitcher in the majors that has been here for less than 5 years i would take Hamels in a heartbeat.. IMO he is top 5 pitcher in all of baseball

cain has such potential, but i think he is not getting the right coaching in sf. kid shows how good he is in spots, but very inconsistent. he has the potential to be a true number one but time will tell if it gets out. kid has been under fire all season and not all his fault. he feels he has to go out and win the game on his own due to the lousy sf bats. he is not being refined enough in sf, imo. lincecum might be the better pitcher of the 2. if sf can get zito right and then those 2 going, pretty lethal pitching 123...

hammels is lights out. kid is better than i thought. he would be my number one choice out of all the ones mentioned here.

big z is a nut case. work horse, yes. but the innings will wear on him in about 2 years. he reminds me of oswalt. oswalt has shown wear and tear this year after numerous years of extensive over use. oswalt is still a stud, just not as big a stud of years past.

                      just my 2 cents.
