Gagne hasnt been the same since he got off the roids......Im surprised more pitchers do not crucified for juicing.........also when is Boston finally going to admit the Yankees are in the race and start pitching Papelbon more........they treat him like hes a freakin baby......he wont pitch more than an inning at a time and he wont even pitch more than 2 games in a row........it was fine and dandy when they had a double digit lead but the race is on now so you have to get every single game.

      PEACE

ever since he got the tired arm i agree...but with the bullpen they have the men put in should be able to retire the Orioles

Agreed...you shouldn't need to go to your stopper in the 8th. I thought Tito f'd up in not leaving Okajima in.

But sometimes you do need to. And the Sox refuse to. How long do they treat Paplebon like he has a glass arm? Do they risk the division while saving him? It is the stretch run.

I do not however think that was the case today. Gagne was brought to Boston to pitch in that situation.

I still think it was a good deal because it added more depth to a great bullpen but it is obvious that Gagne is not the same pitcher.

Well, they went into this knowing that if we was the closer, that he couldn't pitch as often as a closer typically would, so they surrounded him with a bunch of quality arms and 2 other guys that can close.

I am not ready to jump off the bridge just yet. Getting Gagne was a smart move and I am confident it will pay off handsomely before the season is over and into the post season.

NYY and Bos are both making the playoffs, imo.

                Couldn't agree more.

Surprising with you being a Mets fan.

As a sox fan i think it would be such a disappointment to lose the pennant regardless if we win the wildcard......

                    JMHO.....

Losing a double digit lead would absolutely be a disappointment. But everyone starts even in October.

three jack...i agree...but i think when someone hunts you down like the yankees appear to be doing it has to plant a seed of doubt in your mind....

I would think it would sting. As a Yankee fan, it would make me feel great.

Although a loss in ALDS or a loss in the ALCS to Boston would take that feeling away.

Good luck the rest of the way. Should be a classic finish!

Hey, 3 of the last 5 World Series Winners have been Wildcard teams and all 5 Series have included a Wildcard team. I will be bummed out, frustrated and pissed if they lose the division and get in as the WC but hey, it's not the end of the world either in the big picture!

We are Red Sox fans, blowing the Division is not exactly shocking to most. We've been through it many times before!
