Ok guys I just spent some time going back through all my threads to find out what my all-time GOY record is since I joined this site back in June of 2006 and here is what I found:
MLB 2-0
NHL 3-2
NFL 1-1
My all-time GOY record stands @ 6-3 and am going for 7-3 Friday night on the Canadian football field with this quality selection:
453 SASKATCHEWAN ROUGH RIDERS -3.0 (-105) (5 units ) GOY
The Saskatchewan Rough Riders are IMO the best team in the entire league right now and if they stay healthy I also feel they are gonna win it all this year. They are coming off one of their biggest wins of the season as they went in to B.C. last week and gave the Lions (5-1) their first loss of the season beating them 21-9 on the road as 4 point underdogs. The Riders have the best overall defense in the league allowing only 101 points in 6 games for an average of only 16.8 points againts per game. They now travel to Toronto to face the injury riddled Argonauts. Toronto started out the season strong with Michael Bishop at QB winning 2 of their first 3 games until he broke his wrist in week 3. Since Bishop got injured the Argos have went 0-3 and have only scored 50 points in 3 games combined for an average of only 16.6 PPG. They were forced to go with their back up Mike MacMachon but after struggles in week 4 and 5 coach Pinball Clemens yanked him and went with the "aging" and "loss of touch" veteran Damon Allen. Allen could not help the Argos either and was only able to create a mere amount of offense last week vs the Als as they had less than 75 yards of offense at halftime before he went down due to injury of his ankle. So this week Toronto is going with pretty much their 4th string QB in a dude named Rocky Butler. He came in last week and looked somewhat impressive but that was vs. the Als mediocre defense not the best defense in the league in the Riders whom which he will face on Friday night. Saskatchewan's best attribute is energy on defence. It just seems like everyone gets to the ball at the right time, all the time. What has made the Riders have so much success and continuity this season is the fact that they have remained for the most part completely healthy. Wes Cates used to be a second down back who was not expected to do more than situational football but not anymore as he is a starter and is here to stay. Also, the Argonauts injuries go even further than just the QB position as Steve Morley, Mike Pearson, Jamel White, John Avery and Dave Costa are down with injuries and will all be out of the lineup for Friday night. Did I mention that the Riders lead the league in net offense TOO!!! with 178 points in 6 games averaging 29.6 points per game. When you lead the league in points per game and least points allowed per game it is very hard for someone to argue that they are not the best team in the league right now. The Riders defense vs. the 4th string QB I would not expect them to allow more than 10 points to the Argos here. The Riders get the job done by at least 2 TD's and win this one in fine fashion!!!
PS - The line opened @ 2.5 and is currently @ 3.0 at most books. I posted this now so that everyone can get it @ 3.0 as this line should move higher by kick off....
Game starts @ 7:30 PM EST - Friday, August 10th, 2007
AS ALWAYS, GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!
