Down 16-2 in the fourth.

With this loss, they are now 36-45 their last 81 (that's a full HALF season).

They played great for one month and have been awful the rest of the year. Only the patheticness of the NL Central keeps them in first.

Reminds me of last year when the Cardinals won the whole thing at 83-79......and then won the World Series

They can't even beat a pitcher with a broken leg

DENVER -- X-rays taken Wednesday show Rockies pitcher Jason Hirsh suffered a broken leg when he was hit by a line drive in the first inning the night before, even though he stayed in for five more innings and got the victory.

The club said Hirsh has a fractured fibula in his lower right leg. He will be re-evaluated Thursday.

Hirsh (5-7) gave up two earned runs on three hits over six innings Tuesday and the Rockies beat Milwaukee 11-4.

The Rockies also placed catcher Edwin Bellorin on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, two days after he was called up to the majors leagues for the first time.

Bellorin, brought up from Triple-A Colorado Springs, made only one plate appearance in his brief stay. He hit into a double play in the second inning and strained a hamstring while running out the play.

Colorado purchased the contract of catcher Alvin Colina from Colorado Springs. Colina was hitting .204 and had five homers and 29 RBIs in 64 games with Colorado Springs.

Given how rotten they've been the last two decades, they're probably just happy they're still in first.

I think they need to shake something up, if for no other reason than shaking things up.
