I managed to completely screw this thread up. (I've only been here three years; I'm still getting the hang of it). Here are the reasons for the above plays. (I will also note it took JC only two seconds to notice my original screwup; people are brutal around here).
1* Nationals +145
Washington has now won seven of eight! No one seems to know this. The Giants have been totally distracted by the Bonds thing and played pathetically last night and seemed to quit after his home run. Washington's Redding has been awesome with a 1.97 ERA his last five starts and in his last three he allowed only two earned runs in 19 innings. SF is a shockingly bad 4-18 in Cain's starts. A lot to like here.....
1* Royals +200
Minnesota is only 13-10 in Santana's starts and has been a so-so team all year. KC has played almost as well as the Twins from May 15 on. KC's Perez isn't pitching too well but Minnesota isn't scoring ANY runs. Get a load of this stat:the Twins have scored FOUR OR FEWER RUNS IN NINE OF THEIR LAST TEN GAMES!! In addition, Minnesota has socred three or fewer eight of their last ten and haven't scored more than five in their last fifteen! If KC can score at all off Santana, they can win at a very big price.
Opinions only:
Tigers (almost made that one a play but I have enpough action)
Phillies (Willis is all screwed up and the Marlins have quit)
