Lets see if 9002 posts is kind to us! NY/Toronto Side & Total

7*New York Yanks / Toronto Under 10 (I actually took Under 11 @ -145 but all can not do that)
    5*Toronto +1 1/2 RL

In looking at the stats and trends - it becomes obvious that Pettitte is pitching better these days and that Litsch has been undering well for the whole season and is on top of his game.

Pettitte has given up 1-3-3-1-3 against TB x2, white sox, orioles and Toronto (1).
Litsch has 0-1-4-1-0 Earned runs in the last 5 games against Oakland, Boston, Seattle, TB, and Minny.

The trends show a lot of overs for Pettitte against Toronto but a closer look shows he has not pitched against them since 2003. These trends are bogus for that reason. This only one way that trends can hurt you by not investigating further.
Over is 8-1 in Pettitte's last 9 road starts vs. Blue Jays.
Over is 9-2-1 in Pettitte's last 12 starts vs. Blue Jays.

The curious thing here is that Pettitte had 2 games this year that ended up 3-2 with a win and loss in those games and so Pettitte is 2-0 on the under last 2 games in what 5 years. Since he is pitching better and Litsch is outpitching him then this game in my belief stays under.
Because Toronto likes left handed pitching- I will take the nice numbers and side with them. And yes i saw the service winning 19 games in a row on the opposite side.
Now the question is does anyone see a problem withthe bull pens in this game- therefore could be a 5 inning situation- looking further into the rest factor and look forward to comments you have on the game!

It's amazing how many people could overlook this and just play the over blindly.

Great catch on that one my friend.

The bullpens might very well blow the over...but...anyone playing the over just based on the last 12 starts not realizing there are a lot of new players on the Jays are doing a dis-service to themselves.

Looking at the batter vs pitcher stats....

Frank Thomas is hitting .378 vs Pettite with 3 HR
            Glaus .294 with 3 HR
            Wells .423 avg.

All the rest are in the low .200's or worse.

No one on the yankees roster has more then 1 AB vs Litsch

just an FYI there for everyone

                Thanx Rook-
                Yanks are 22-25 O/U away
                Blue Jays are 21-32 O/U @ Home

Bull pens look like they could use some rest especially the Yanks and Mariano Rivira- but please no Farnsworth.

21 innings for the blue jays in the last 3 games but they have a mostly a day of rest and the Yanks have 17 innings pitched in the last 3 games.
Both have given up hits but runs given up were accorded to the Yanks more.
I expect at least 7 innings from both pitchers.

Toronto will carry its eight-game winning streak at Rogers Centre The run is the longest for the Blue Jays since they won eight in a row from April 14-21, 1999.

A victory on Monday would mark the first nine-game winning streak for Toronto since Aug. 27-Sept. 7, 1998 -- one of three times the Jays have accomplished that feat in club history. The longest run Toronto has gone on at home was 10 games from July 21-Aug. 3, 1985, at Exhibition Stadium.

The 22-year-old rookie will aim to help Toronto capture its fourth straight win overall, and ninth consecutive game at Rogers Centre, when New York comes calling.

Litsch is coming off his second straight win, which put the finishing touch on the 1.71 ERA the rookie fashioned in the month of July. On Tuesday, the right-hander held Tampa Bay scoreless over 6 2/3 innings, despite allowing seven hits and only striking out two batters.

Litsch has only faced the Yankees once this season. In that May 30 outing, the right-hander lasted just two-thirds of an inning after yielding five runs on four hits. Following that outing, Litsch was sent to Triple-A Syracuse -- only to be recalled in late June to fill in for injured right-hander A.J. Burnett.

The Yankees will counter with left-hander Andy Pettitte, who is 0-1 with a 1.26 ERA in two outings against the Blue Jays this season. On Wednesday, Pettitte picked up a victory over the White Sox by allowing just one run on six hits with six strikeouts over seven innings.

Pettitte is making his first appearance at Rogers Centre since May 29, when he took the loss. In that outing, Jays second baseman Aaron Hill stole home against Pettitte in the seventh inning, breaking a 1-1 tie and helping Toronto to a 3-2 victory.

                    Pitching matchup
TOR: RHP Jesse Litsch (4-4, 3.47 ERA)
Litsch is 2-2 with a 4.79 ERA in four starts at Rogers Centre this year.

NYY: LHP Andy Pettitte (7-7, 3.97 ERA)
Pettitte is 15-8 with a 4.08 ERA in 31 career games against the Jays

Did you know that in the last 7 games Atlanta has gone over every game.
Did you that Minny in the last 8 games has gone under in every game.

and this Spears sighting from another site that was just posted and I like to see what he has to say!

This play is prob like spitting into the wind with the Yankees averaging 10 runs a game over their last 7 but I like it just the same.

Andy Pettitte has made 12 road starts this season and 7 have gone under. His road ERA is 3.48 which is a half run better than his overall ERA. Over his last 3 starts his ERA is a shade over 3 and 2 of the 3 have gone under. In those last 3 starts he struck out 19 in 20 innings. He has had very good stuff.

Jesse Litsch goes for the Jays. He has had more unders on the road than at home but he too has pitched quite well of late posting an ERA of 2.50 over his last 3 with 2 of the 3 going under. He had one bad start versus the Yankees earlier in the season and I expect him to be very focused today.

6 of the 7 between these 2 have gone under this season. Proceed with caution but I am going to play

                          UNDER 10
                          MLB TOTALS 48-22

TORONTO is 29-16 UNDER (+11.0 Units) after 2 or more consecutive home games this season.

TORONTO is 55-32 UNDER (+19.5 Units) when the total is 10 or higher over the last 2 seasons
