Best of Luck Shorty- Cook has been doing well lately and I am going to go back and take another look! Actually both has pitched well since the break.
The right-handed sinkerballer has won his last three outings, posting a 1.52 ERA while allowing only 16 hits in 23 2-3 innings in that stretch. Cook, who has never won four consecutive starts in his six-year career, gave up two earned runs in 7 2-3 innings of a 6-3 victory at Florida on Tuesday, lowering his ERA to 2.94 in 12 road starts.
"He's just in a good zone now," manager Clint Hurdle said. "There's less effort, more power, more sink, more crispness to his slider."
Cook is 0-1 with a 5.81 ERA in six career games - four starts - against the Braves. He's also 1-4 with a 5.31 ERA in day games this year.
I believe it is a good play especially with Andrew Jones out of the lieup. His defensive capabilities will be missed but his bat will not! Good Luck to us Shorty! James is not so hot against Colorado either. maybe an over?
