Despite a number of question marks in last year's camp, the mood was one of a very different spirit as I posted last season. A totally different ideological spirit going into last season. The result was a trip to the NFC Championship game.
The early reports coming out of Saints camp are extremely positive: No distractions. Everyone is signed. In one word, the report is that the Saints, vets and rookies, are FOCUSSED. Their motto according to HC Sean Payton: Earn it.
If the Saints avoid injuries, the magazines might be right: New Orleans is Superbowl bound. Most critics are picking the Saints in the NFC, but a handful are picking the Cowboys.
Dallas' numbers from last year are SOLID, despite their inconsistencies and early exit. Early reports from the Cowboys camp are positive also, with T.O. vowing not to be a distraction. He actually practiced AGAINST doctor's orders. A new T.O.???
We'll see.
I don't see the Bears going back to the Superbowl, and unless the Panthers and/or the Seahawks rebound from last year's sub-par seasons, the only other real threat in the NFC is the Eagles.
