  • This is why.....

So i'm sitting here watching "america's game" on NFL network. and i'm watching the 03 and 04 super bowl champion patriots. You all know that I am an eagles fan, but since the bledsoe/martin/coats/parcells superbowl I have liked the patriots. These 2 specials have made me sick of the patriots. What's odd is that I still like them, I like Troy brown, I like Tom Brady, I like Tedy Bruschi....I hate however....HATE HATE HATE, Rodney Harrison, I hope he snaps his forearm again someday.

My point is, is that I one day want to be watching "america's game" and I want to see Brian Dawkins talk about his super bowl championship. So in that regard, I want to list: "This is why the Eagles will win the super bowl". and I think everyone on here, should list their team, and their reasons why their team will win the super bowl. Here goes:

This is why the eagles will win the super bowl:

Talent: Say what you will, McNabb is a star in the league. Healthy, he can run the offense, throw the deep ball, is evasive in the pocket, has and will again lead this team through the playoffs. We have one of the top 5 RB's in the league...Brian Westbrook is shifty, quick, smart, elusive, fast and again...capable of carrying this team when he has to. O Line....no arguement...tops in the league. TE: LJ Smith is poised to have a breakout year. D Line....When healthy, we have one of the nastiest lines in the league. Patterson is coming into his own, Trent Cole is a young guy with lots to prove, Kearse has something to prove after his knee surgery, Juqua Thomas is underrated and will surprise, Darren Howard has the potential to return to form, Bunkley will be givin the opportunity to contribute as well. The Secondary is, w/o arguement, Top 3 in the league, Dawk, Lito, Sheldon Brown are amazing defenders. All 3 can both blitz, cover and stop the run.

Depth: The Eagles traded away their first round pick and drafted a developmental QB with their first selection. This can only go to show how deep (when healthy) this team is. Buck and now Tony Hunt have the abilty to back up westbrook w/o issue, the D/L is VERY VERY deep, as always with any eagles team....the secondary has great depth with Will James, Hanson, and others.

Coaching: Save for Andy Reids Horrendous time managment, the eagles have the TOP D coordinator in Jim Johnson, and I belive that Marty Morninwig has helped out the offense with the play calling. Andy Reid just needs to keep from blowing the game with late game management issues. These Coachs have been to a super bowl, and are ready to return. Reid CAN and WILL lead this team back to a super bowl.

Questions: Wide Reciever....Reggie Brown is ready to break out. Hank Basket is a capable number 2, plus, the eagles aren't a team that NEEDS WR. The eagles do a good job spreading it around....westbrook, LJ, Reggie, Baskett, Schobel, et all. Stopping the run....Don't think the eagles are fucking stupid and don't know they couldn't stop the run last year. Trotter is getting up there in age, and LB is always a ? with the eagles, but with Gaither in there, and the addition of spikes, and hopefully the emergence of Chris Gocong the eagles can be better against the run this season.

Division: Besides the fact that the WHOLE NFC is weak, the skins, giants and cowboys don't present a whole lot of opposition for this years eagles. Last year the eagles beat the NYG IN NY! in a huge game with garcia at the helm, and they beat the cowboys in december against a HOF coach. The skins....well, I can't believe we aren't hearing super bowl talk from those clowns. The skins are still at least 10 years away from another super bowl. None of these teams made enough strides to keep up this year. Eagles win this division going away.

THAT is why the eagles will win the super bowl....what you got?

Here we go. The Eagles haven't started training camp and like every year at this time the Eagles are going to win the Super Bowl again. What is it like 24 super bowls in a row the Eagles have won? Every year the stupid Eagle fans hem and haw about years past and how they should have been the champs. bla bla bla. I am sick of Eagle fans because they are like broken records. The Eagles will NEVER win the Super Bowl with McNabb. Keep dreaming loser....GO COWBOYS!

hmmm....actually that's not the format we are looking for....try this:

The cowboys will win the superbowl because:

Holders: The cowboys landed all pro holder (enter name here) to hold place kicks for them, so that they will be more succesful with them this year.

Coach: The cowboys replaced long time never could win a superbowl coach bill parcells, with hall of famer, and legend in his own time wade phillips.

TO: TO will continue to work to increase his dropped pass number in the upcoming season

That is why the cowboys will win the super bowl.

              GET IT?

                  LMAO ... Here we go!

Personally, i picked Dallas to win this division. I think they have the healthier QB, better RB's and better receivers. Defense can go either way imo and philly has better special teams. Who knows but i can't wait!

If i had the choice between Westbrook or the Barber/Jones combo, i would choose the Barber/Jones combo in a HEARTBEAT!

This is the NFL and you now need that 2nd guy. When Westbrook was hurt, it showed.

A little changeup to the thinking above!
If I had my thoughtson who will win the superbowl - I would not go with the Eagles because of the health issues to McNabb. I would however, believe that defense wins championships and sense that Baltimore has to be included in the mix. Of course beyond San Diego and new England- its Baltimore.

My favorite teams are Tampa Bay and my Jacksonville Jags and they will have better seasons as TB has a decent QB (7 of them on the roll at this time) but Simeon Rice is now gone and the defense has Gaines Adams to replace him but there is a learning curve.
Jacksonville lost Donovan Darius (a fierce hitter) and now has Reggie Nelson from Florida drafted to take his place or fill in the opposite side. Learning curve again to a key position. Of course if the defensive line stays healthy with Stroud and company -then anything can happen. Leftwich is in control and he is in shape this season from what I am told. Jones Drew at running back with Taylor and now a Fla State RB will be healthy again so the committee at running back will carry the load.
The receivers are still not the best - Matt Jones got hit hard on a play and has sense been timid over the middle. The other receivers are starting to blossom but inconsistent as is the QB. Leftwich throws a bullet to receivers and the receivers stride has to be just right to make the catch. Looks pretty when they hook up and awful when they don't.
All in all - I can't stand the fact that we hired Shula as offensive something or other. Never liked him at Tampa Bay, Alabama or anywhere he has been.

So my bet is on Baltimore to set records this year.

No, there is a long list waiting for season tickets. I don't usually go to games after September and October. The weather is too unpredictable and it is more comfortable watching from my couch.

As of right now, i'm going to the Sunday Night San Diego game and the Washington game!

in a heartbeat huh? That's just silly. Westbrook was not hurt last year....and buck has played great in a backup role. Plus barber/jones can't be used recieving out of the backfield like westbrook can. I just don't see your argument.
