I have only posted 2 bases picks in about a month and the first one pushed and the other one lost so gonna stick with the CFL going forward until NHL gets rolling again come October. There is one game for Thursday night and I like this selection:
452 Toronto Argonauts -2.5 (-105) STARTS @ 7:00 PM EST
I know what some of you may be thinking. How can I go with the Argos here after they got smoked by 23 points on Saturday night and here are some of the reasons why I expect them to turn it around this evening. The Argonauts (2-2) come back home tonight to face the Alouettes who have a 1-3 record on the season and their only win came against Hamilton who is the worst team in the league with an 0-4 record. The Argos have lost their star QB Michael Bishop due to a broken wrist for about another month or so and Mike MacMahon came in and sucked shit last week against Calgary in the rematch of their home and home. Receiver Derrell “Mookie” Mitchell should etch his name atop the Argos All-Time Receiving Yards list tonight. Mitchell, who comes into the game with 8,769 receiving yards as as Argo, is only four yards away from surpassing Paul Masotti (8,772) for the Argos all-time lead in reception yards. Head Coach Michael “Pinball” Clemons has not yet tipped his hat as to which one of Mike McMahon or Damon Allen will begin the contest under centre, but what is known is that they will have a new target to throw to. Former 1st round NFL Draft Pick Rashaun Woods, who was acquired earlier in the week, will start at the wideout position for the Argos in place of Tony Miles who will sit out his second consecutive game with a hamstring injury. The Alouettes have been bit by the injury bug at key positions with OC Bryan Chui, CB Davis Sanchez, WR Dave Stala, LB Timothy Strickland and WR Kerry Watkins all sitting out with injuries. They have also experienced changes in their backfield as rookie RB Mike Imoh has been added to the injured list and Jarrett Payton has moved ahead of veteran halfback Robert Edwards on the depth chart. With all that being said, I would expect the Argos to bounce back strong after their embarassing loss last week and get the job done tonight at home in the first of two games between these teams!!!
