I want to get my feet wet here again and see how I do. My POD's are 3-0-1 and I need some small plays on totals to give me some practice again.

The Totals given are provided by 5 dimes. I pay alittle extra for the better line.

With Mussina and Jones pitching tonight many have crushed the books on the over in this game. However, an equalizer in the umpire has been called in to help secure a larger strike zoneand has a 66% Unders Attitude. Away Jones is 5-3 Over/Under and at home Mussina is 1-5 O/U. I believe the odds also have moved higher during the day. When many are on it- I like the other side. Yes- I would play it also at 10 1/2.

In the Fla/Cinncy game.Lohse has an under look at 6-12 O/U and Olsen is back and has shown a strong arm at home. However, West is Umpiring and he has 14-5 O/U Quality about him. I rarely go against him on an under.

Both of these games are predicated on the Umpire. This is not what a call strong bets by any means.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays face the New York Yankees in the Bronx this weekend in what looks to be the safest over bet in all of baseball.

For starters, tonight’s opener will be the Rays’ first second-half road game. Only 12 of Tampa Bay’s 44 first-half road games played under the total. The Rays have also played over the total in nine of their last 12 games.

Friday's game will be the ninth between the Rays and Yanks this season and none of the previous eight played under the total. Edwin Jackson takes the hill for Tampa Bay against New York’s Mike Mussina, the same starters for last Sunday’s 13-run series finale at Tropicana Field. The teams also have a five-game streak of playing over the total at Yankee Stadium.

But bettors should note that the Rays and Yanks scored only 10 combined runs in each of their four head-to-head meetings before last Sunday’s game. Playing the over in those games, in which the total was always set between nine and 10 runs, resulted in either a push or a nail-biting payday.

It might also be a concern that none of Mussina’s seven home starts in 2007 have gone higher than 10 runs.
