I lost an All-Star play Tuesday when the NL left the bases load in the ninth. Back to real games.
1* Cubs -115
I almost never play favorites but this is an amazingly low line considering: a) the Cubs are red hot and at home, b) the pitching matchup is even, c) Houston is a really bad team with a bad bullpen, d) the Astros HAVE THE WORST ROAD RECORD IN BASEBALL. The explanation is that people always overbet Oswalt, who has a -311 ROI on a flat bet on all of his starts. I was ridiculed when I posted here four weeks ago that the Cubs were poised to make a run for the NL Central. With Milwaukee's starting pitching collapsing, the Cubs could be leading the division in a week.
Opinions only on two big dogs:
Nationals (Chico's a decent pitcher)
Rangers (they're playing well and Loe is pitching very well)
