  • A-Rod's Wife follows in hubby's footsteps....

I like A-Rod as a player...would take him in a heartbeat if I were starting a team. IMO, one of the top 5 players in the game. But as a person, and I do not know him at all just what I read, I don't think much of him. Now his wife shows up at Yankee Stadium yesterday wearing this...>CLASSY!!! Real classy!

As the saying goes, you can't shine shit!

Perhaps it was a high end trailer park, like where JC lives? JC, did you know her? Was she in the neighboring double wide?

I wouldn't exactly call his antics anything great either.

                So what!

It astonishes me where we are as a society when people are so uptight about words on a t-shirt. There's much bigger fish in the pond than FUCK YOU on a t-shirt. We have become so thin skinner it's sickening.

Frank, I could not disagree with you more. If you sat behind her with your two or three year old son, that would not bother you? Having to explain to your kid what it means when they inevitably ask wouldn't bother you? Hearing them say it in the car ride home because all 2 and 3 year olds repeat everything they hear (so I am told by my closest friends) wouldn't bother you? Its sickening to me to think thatpeople think this behavior is acceptable.

I bet she's the only woman on earth married to a man who makes $25 million a year that wears a shirt that says Fuck You.

                      Was Saks closed?

First, a 2 or 3 year old will have no clue unless it gets attention which is exactly what's going on. Do you think by protecting your child from vulgarity that they're not going to curse than you're fooling yourself. Our children here these words all the time. What's important is for them to learn right from wrong. My daughters didn't grow up around vulgarity. Guess what? They use it. They've learned when to use it and where to use it. If anyone thinks "not my children. they don't curse" then they are naive. I've always felt we're not doing our kids any justice by over-protecting them. They'll get an unexpected dose of reality once they enter the real world. It's not a very friendly world.

I never said the behavior was acceptable. I said it sickens me that the media pays so much attention to this type of BS when there's far more serious issues facing us day to day. Seriously, who cares. These kids are exposed to far more and far worse on TV and the internet. What's next?

I mean no disrespect. You admit to having no kids. Once you have children and they start growing you have a much different perspective. The old cliche "pick your battles" certainly applies when raising children.

To answer your question. I would explain to my children that it's not a very nice word and it's said when you want to be mean to someone and make them sad. At 2 and 3 that has a far greater impact then ignoring two words on a t-shirt.

                          That my friend it reality.
