I lost a total Thursday and based on the above records should probably just stick to playing sides. Two very hot teams today and both are dogs.

I was ridiculed earlier in the week when I said the Cubs turned a corner with their sweep of the White Sox and were poised to make a run for the NL Central. They've now won seven in a row and face a Milwaukee team that may be feeling pressure after a bullpen collapse yesterday. The Brewers are only 16-20 on the road. While Sheets has been brilliant lately, the Cubs send out a solid pitcher in Marshall who is 4-2 with a 2.44 ERA. He gave up two or fewer earned runs in four of his last five starts; that's excellent.
1* Mariners +130
Ditto. Seattle is at home and has won six in a row and eight of nine. Yet they are a dog because of Halladay. But the Mariners' Batista has been excellent and Seattle is 10-6 in his starts. Like Milwaukee mentioned above, Toronto is a Jekyll and Hyde team that is awful on the road (15-22). Seattle is an outstanding 25-15 at home.
