I for one like Noahs presence around the basket and remember he was possibly going number 1 the year before. Noah has the passion as mentioned and plays hard.
I have watched many games of the Gators over the last 2 years and the special chemistry they had. With Horford out they struggled to win- so he is tops and would be my hope a good fit for the Hawks.
Lets hope they don't get stupid with taking Yi. They will continue to look at him, as the Hawks management fight among themselves and in court.
Horford is the known quality here in rebounding and scoring. Yi is athletic and possesses a jump shot.
If the Hawks misfire and take Yi- watch the hoopla begin! The management is in majority at this time on Yi so it is not too far fetch according to a rumor!!!
Of course Amare may be a consideration in trade as the hawks want the deal to be sweetened on the financial end!
This is without a doubt - the major decision in how this draft plays out!!
To be quite honest, Noah is reminiscent of Ronaldo Balkman. Someone that has raised eyebrows as a result of Isaih Thomas' bold move with Balkman last year. He is a guy who will grind it out with anyone, but has very little offensive skills. Reminds me of Ben Wallace in the early days, although not as imposing a figure. He could develop with some work, but will be a serviceable backup PF.
I think with a top 10 pick you look for someone who can start for you within 2 years. To me Noah is not that someone. The one I do not understand who will slip is Acie Law. If a team in the top 10 needed a PG he would go easy top 10. I also think Alando Tucker and Jared Dudley will be steals. Dudley will probably go to San Antonio where he will be a PERFECT fit. Plays D and has no problem passing the ball. Tucker will probably go 2nd round and that will be a steal for any team who gets him. He can D up and is amazing on offense. Tucker and Dudley are my sleeper picks who will make a huge impact on their team next year.
Also how is Nick Fazekas getting no respect? The guy is a stud with more offensive ability than some other big guys out there plus unlike the kid from BC, he has not gotten into any trouble on or off the floor. I think NJ would be better off with Fazekas than a troublemaker even though they need a shot blocker down low.
I couldn't agree more on your assesement of Noah.
Balkman was the guy I was thinking of and was going to say the same thing.

Well said
I don't know if he will be as bad as Balkman, I understand the high energy reference, but I see him more as a Shane Battier, without the range, if that makes sense
CHARLOTTE (AP) — Joakim Noah isn't putting much faith in the numerous NBA mock drafts, many of which have him going eighth overall to the Charlotte Bobcats.
Noah, one of six players to workout Saturday for the Bobcats. I think, to me, it's all a situation of what a team needs. I'd rather listen to the general manager, the guy who makes the pick."
By all accounts, the 6-foot-11, 232-pound Noah appears to be a good fit for the Bobcats, who have struggled to keep their big men healthy the past couple of years.
Noah, a junior from Florida, went through a 90-minute workout for the Bobcats on Saturday. New coach Sam Vincent had him shooting plenty of midrange jump shots.
"What we want to see is his offensive skills," Vincent said. "We want to see him in the post, scoring. We want to see his shot from that midrange area. That is what we're trying to get a feel for."
Vincent called Noah a player who is "fundamentally sound," but added he'd like to see him work on the release of his jump shot, which tends to be awkward.
"The mechanics of his shot probably need a little adjusting, and I'm sure that is something the kid is working on," Vincent said.Noah said there wasn't a lot you can take from a short workout, but he wanted the team to know that if they draft him they'll be taking a player with a great work ethic.
"I just want to show them that I am somebody who takes basketball very seriously and not somebody who is just all about going out and partying and doing all kinds of things like that — that's not me," Noah said. "I'm somebody who takes basketball very seriously."
Despite what has been a hectic and tiring whirlwind tour — he worked out for the Chicago Bulls on Friday and plans to do the same for the Boston Celtics on Sunday — Noah said he's enjoying the experience.
"This is a dream come true," he said. "It's not easy at all, but what a great feeling to be able to say I'm going to play basketball as my profession. To get paid and be able to pay for your own hamburgers ... that's pretty cool."
