I got back on track with a big +175 dog winner Thursday with the Rockies over the Yankees. Two plays tonight I like a lot and a couple of opinions I like a little.
1* Nationals +185
The Braves have lost five in a row and nine of their 12 and have dropped all the way back to .500. The Nationals continue to play OK and have a pitching advantage tonight. While Hudson has the name, Bergmann has the stats. Get this: he allowed ONLY ONE EARNED RUN IN FOUR OF HIS LAST FIVE STARTS. It gets better. In those starts, he allowed only nine HITS in 29 innings. Even if Hudson pitches well, this line is awfully juicy for a red hot pitcher going against an ice cold team.
1* Cubs +104
I get the impression the Cubs turned a major corner with their sweep of the White Sox. They are likely to make a strong run for the NL Central and their move may be underway now. In yesterday's game, all five of their hitters leading off the lineup were hitting .300. While Colorado's Francis has pitched great, the Rockies have lost three in a row and travel to meet a team poised to start rolling. The Cubs have badly underachieved this season, but things have a way of evening out in baseball.
Opinions only:
Tigers/Rangers OVER (Texas is scoring an amazing number of runs)
Padres
