Thanx for the e-mails checking on me! Always appreciated!
Series stats - Just thought you might like to know!
LAA has won 8 series in a row
NYM have lost 6in a row
OK -Thought I might step in and post a play that a few are considering going the other way. I am on vacation still but I am venturing a bet on this game.
I think LA gives Toronto more of a battle tonight than most think!
Both teams clobbered the other the first
2 rounds- tonight may just well be a pitching battle!
Dodgers are 3-8 in interleague games, 18-17 on the road, 19-11 after a loss,
3-0 after giving up 10 or more in a game, 26-26 vs righties and 1-4 on Thursdays.
Jays are 21-17 at home, 7-7 in interleague games, 20-28 vs righties, 15-18 after a win.
Dodgers---Chad Billingsley is a reliever and LA is hoping for a decent outcome from him as Schmidt is kaput!
In 21 innings he has 27 Strike outs, 7 BBs, 18 hits and 7 ERA in the last 10 games.
All in relief, and I see only one game that he gave up any runs in the last 10 games. 3 runs against milwaukee on 5-21-07 -the other 9 games (1-2 innings yes- but goose eggs nonetheless!)
Granted, he is a reliever. and granted Marcum is a reliever turned starter as well and he has been hot.
Most have predicated their Over pick on Billingsley maybe lacking strength in the inning category. Remember he pitched as a starter last year with a 7-4 record and 3.80 ERA. This year overall for 2007 he has pitched 35 innings, 4-0 Record, 3.09 ERA 40 Strikeouts, 13 base on balls, with an OBP of only 2.90. Quite good!
On par with Marcum- possibly!
Toronto- Frank Thomas will climb back in the closet after the boo birds start cranking it up for him again.
Toronto designated hitter Frank Thomas took the constructive criticism seriously by knocking out a gland slam during Wednesday’s 12-1 win.
“Last night was rock bottom,” Thomas told the Toronto Sun yesterday. “To get booed by the home crowd like that last night, I took that personally. But I’m in a new place and I haven’t played the way I’m capable so far.”
Marcum is 4-2 has 58 innings pitched.
1 save and 3.41 ERA, 61 SO's, 21 BB and a 2.77 OBP. Four of the last 5 games have been decided by one run that he has pitched in!
