I went 2-0 yesterday, winning with another dog (Oakland at +125) and a rare favorite (Cardinals). Two more dogs I think will win straight up this afternoon.

As I've stated in the past, I love to go against "reputation" pitchers who are struggling. They are always overbet. Oswalt is a great case. Houston is 6-7 in his starts and bettors are an ugly -494 ROI betting on him each game. While his last outing was strong, it was a loss and came after two weak outings. More importantly, the Astros are lousy. They've now lost 14 of 17. I just can't see favoring them at a big number on the road. Colorado's Fogg is coming off two excellent outings and the Rockies have won three of four and 10 of their last 14.

Get out the broom. A lot of bettors like to try to stop a streak. In baseball, I try to ride them. In this case, Oakland (who won for me last night) has won five in a row and took the first three against the Red Sox. Amazingly, they were dogs in all three games and are again today! People never catch on to these streaks. Today, we have another "reputation" pitcher, Schilling, who isn't pitching well. Two of his last three outings have been bad and he has a 4.95 ERA his last five games. Oakland's Blanton is coming off a shutout and three of his last five starts were excellent. He has outstanding stats at home. Boston is the best team in the AL but they are in a slump and this is the time to take big prices and beat them.
