  • Absurd Yankee Lines Continue

Although Yanks can still turn it around and have a successful season, one still has to wonder at the absurd lines we have seen of late where they are big favorites just about every time they play even on the road.
Well tomorrow they are a slight dog against the Sox, as Sox are about a -114 favorite.
Considering their big lead in the standings, I say that any other team coming into Boston tomorrow with the same record as the Yanks going against the Red Sox and Wakefield would be at least a -150 dog no matter who pitched for them.
If the Yanks win say 4 or 5 games in a row, then I might say the lines of late might be appropriate.
However, as we all know, their win on Wednesday notwirhstanding, the Yanks are by far the worst team to invest on in baseball on a unit basis.
For the record, you would be -22.6 units behind if you tried to earn a unit on Yanks for every game they played this year. The Cubs are second at -14.8 units.

I see Yanks are favored now at -116;With lines like that, it is easy to see why people who bet them every night are down -22.6 units even though they are only 7 games under 500.

I'm Not Proud -- I Played the Yankees Tonight

I look at the Yankees differently. I've been just sitting back either not playing their games, or playing against them. This is until tonight. I am playing ON the Yankees tonight. Their cold spell is over, which I could tell from last nights game and I look for an easy Yankee win tonight and if I am right, another win on Saturday.

            It's Yankee Time Now

Because of the way the Yankees looked Thursday night, I saw this as a turnaround for them, which is why I played them tonight for the first time in a long time and they came thru. The fight in the 5th inning, showed the Yankees still have some spark left. They won't go far with their crappy pitching, but I can see them winning most of their games the next week or so. I'm playing the Yankees the next two games against the Red Sox and suggest you do too, if you want to make money.

Get this-the Yankees going into today are minus 22.1 units with a 37-39 record and the worst investment on the board even though they are closer to 500 than before and had a mini run.
The second worst investment on the board are the Reds at minus 21 units with a 30-50 record.
Judging by above, the Yanks continue to be just "a little bit" overvalued.

                  Savage,

This year's Yankees could have the worst ROI (Return On Investment) in years.

By the way, they're favored again today against a good pitcher.

People, especially in baseball, have a hard time separating their perceptions from reality. Perception is the Yankees have a big time lineup with a huge payroll. Reality is they are a sub-.500 team with terrible pitching.
