2 nascar questions

1. Why are there 43 drivers and not 42 or 44

2. How do people who have higher quailfying speeds not make the race. Example: Micheal Walltrip has a higher speed than 6 drivers that are in the race.

the 43rd spot was basically added as a past champions provisional because the #43 was failing to qualify for races and Nascar decided to reward the King for all that he did for Nascar (they probably wont admit that but that is the truth) and if you are in the top 35 in owner points you are locked into the field even if you are the slowest car out there in qualifying...waltrip is battling for the other 7 available positions reserved for cars outside the top 35 in points...if there are no past champions that failed to qualify the 43rd spot is opened for the 8th fastest car not in the top 35 in points

I used to live in Brick about 6 years ago. I lived doen there for 6 years.

My Dad still lives there. Also got 2 brothers there.
