  • ??? Wayne and others ???

got into a nice debate about WHO has the most INDIVIDUAL world series championship rings??? and then in turn which player in our lifetimes (1974-present) owned the most rings???

We have been unable to google an accurate result. I am hoping someone may know the answer or have better look locating it...

Thanks in advance for your input...
by the way all guesses would be fun to entertain....
my thoughts about the second part of the question were David Cone or Paul Oneill... both with 5 to my calculations...

Yogi Berra has the most as a player (10).

Not sure who has the most of our generation as a player, but I would guess the guys on the Yankee teams of the 90's would have to be near the top.

Just a quick search for our lifetime yielded David Cone, Catfish Hunter, and Paul O'Neill with 5...take it with a grain of salt as it was not a thorough search, but a good starting point...don't know if the link will show up but here you go (http://www.baseball-reference.com/le...st_rings.shtml)

Also, found this interesting, something I would never have guessed...

The record for a player being on a winning World Series team is 10 held by Yogi Berra. He's recognized as having won the most World Series rings or other gifts as a player. Yankee player and coach Frank Crosetti is credited as having been on the most World Series winning teams with 17. He only got 10 rings though. After that he supposedly accepted a rifle as a gift instead of a ring to commemorate that winning season.
