    Well his 1st two at bats were a HR and a single so i'm sure that played in to the decision too.

        Bret Boone loved it when he was on roids. Ichiro would single and steal 2nd all the time putting himself in scoring position for boone. He saw many fastballs too when Ichiro was on first in hopes of keeping him there ... and Boone was a fastball hitter.

              I was just going to respond to your previous post and say Brady Anderson by far. He played here before Baltimore.

                          with 2 outs, and runner on second, it's not uncommon at all to walk a batter to set up the force at any base....

                          Generally you would throw 4 bad pitches, not even trying to throw strikes, and get him to go after (chase) one....

                          If a hitter has been hot, it just makes the intentional walk an easier decision..............

                          If it's the bottom of the last inning, and score is tied, it's the runner on second that counts, not the one at first.......

                          This is done a lot in late innings, in close games.....

                          to any decent hitter, especially a hot one who had hits earlier...kapt
