  • David Justice said Moose is in the Twilight of his Career!!

I was watching the post game interview and i have to agree with him 100%.... Moose is not a guy who can consitantly go 7-8 innings anymore... He's a 5-6 and his fastball tops out at 86 mph

That is exactly what you will get with Mr. Clemens as well...I have watched in Houston over the past two years, still has electric stuff, but remember he is 44 years old and it shows in the later innings...plus, you have the AL east to deal with versus weak NL Central...Roger will be good, but not as good as you guys expect...i am in agreement with 10dimer...i expect max 10 wins with around 4 era...you just have to hope that you are in the race by the end...but hell, you guys are Yankees and I have no doubt that you will add more bats and arms from other teams shortly to reach a $500M payroll this year!...good luck on your team...i am watching with immense curiousity...

Georgie is going to look pretty stupid paying that obscene amount of money if Clemens craps out, which is a distinct possibility at his age.

Nah, it is all irrelevant to the Yankees...they have solid tv revenue plus items...they are far from hurting in terms of money...it is just a small blip on the map...for the yankees to pay one individual over $1M a game he pitches is like you and me having $100 in our pocket...i still don't believe the money is worth it, but i meaningless in the whole scope...the Yankees believe they have the best in the world (just listen to Suzy's announcement when Roger came out, it still makes me laugh and sick at the same time; she pulled out all the stops for YES network and basically orgasmed on the spot) and nothing can stop them...but the whole they are digging is going to make it tough to make a solid run...remember, roger only pitches every 5 days or so...plus, that is about the only time he will spend with the Yankees, on the day he pitches...Yankees believe they have their man, plus they kept him from the Red Sox, so that is a win nonetheless...i believe they Red Sox should be happy they dont have him...anyways, I will never take anything for granted from the Yankees as they are the winningest baseball franchise around...they should never miss the playoffs or be bad for more then 2 years given history and money...hell, Roger makes more than the freaking entire Tampa Bay team...enough said!

KJ1000-you make some great and valid points.
That ssid, I have my doubts about Clemens' ability to step right up in the middle of the season and be effective when batters are in mid season form.
Personally, I am going to bet against him especially if he is an unwarranted favorite like Mussina was today.
He may be in great shape for his age, but as stated, I think he may fizzle or at least not be that effective as he once was.
