Yankees Next 9 Games Debate/Bet

On Mike and the MadDog today, Chris offered Mike 50-1 odds that the Yankees would not win 8 out of their next 9 games (which are against CWS NYM and the RedSox).

First it was 1000/50000... then Chris backed down to 100/5000.

After being called a coward and some prodding from callers, Chris is looking for an amount that will be enough to really make it hurt Mike if he loses. The latest amount discussed...

Mike risks $10,000 to win $500,000


9 Team parly cards usually pay out at 20-1 for 1 loss (i.e. 8-1 record) but this is taking into consideration that each bet is an even (-110) bet. I have a feeling that the Yankees will be dogs more then faves most of their next 9 games.

I gotta agree. I really don't see any way that the Yanks take 8 of 9... but I sure wouldn't wan to be on the hook for 500k if they ripped off 5 straight wins.

It looks like I was right in my assessment-the question should have been what would be appropriate odds for Yankees to LOSE 8 of 9 rather than win 8 of 9.
