  • Baseball line question?

Why is this do you know?

Bos line is -230 and the RL is -130
NYY line is -178 and RL is -130

Why such a big discrepency in the regualr lines as the RL is the same?

Might be due to boston being the home team and yankees being away?

Yeah, The RedSox only get to bat 8 innings if they are winning 5-4 because the game is over after the Orioles bat in the top on the 9th.
However, if the Yankees are up 5-4 after 8 innings, they still get to bat in the 9th and have a chance at some "insurance runs," i.e., your RL cover.

EXACTLY---well put, and this re emphasizes why I say don't play home teams - 1 1/2 RL........If they are winning by 1, game over, if they are at home.....They lose 1/9 of their offensive power, or 11 %.....do the math, and see if it's feasible to play a home team on the - 1 1/2 RL.....Visitor yes, and + 1 1/2 any time........

Also, the O/U is a run higher in the NYY game. Greater probability of runs=greater probability of a runline cover.
